Congratulations to Vanessa on her recent publication!
Vanessa is happy to share the first published paper of her PhD research: Trees from afar: Urban tree classification using mobile terrestrial LiDAR and street view images, featured in Urban Forestry & Urban Greening.
Together with her team, they developed a unique data treatment and deep learning pipeline to identify the most common street tree taxa in Southern Quebec cities from mobile laser scanning (MLS; specifically mobile terrestrial LiDAR and street view images). They demonstrate that MLS can provide a rapid and cost-effective initial inventory of public and private trees, which can be used for planning and maintenance of the urban forest.
Consult her LinkedIn post for key takeaways and/or the full article for more information. Congratulations Vanessa!
